Holiday Treats

Hey guys! I’m back and ready to share two of my favorite Christmas cookie recipes.
My first favorite are just some Traditional sugar cookie cutouts which my family and I like to bake and decorate together every Holiday season.

∆ 3 cups flour
∆ 1 teaspoon baking soda
∆ 2 teaspoons baking powder
∆ 1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
∆ 1/2 cup butter
∆ 1 cup sugar
∆ 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
∆ 1 egg
∆ 1/2 cup milk
1)Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and nutmeg into small bowl.
2)In another bowl mix butter, sugar and vanilla with electric mixer until light & fluffy. Add the egg and mix well.
3)Add the milk to the flour mixture
-should make a soft dough
Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 30 mins.
4)Preheat oven to 350°F, Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut into shapes with floured cookie cutters.
5)Place dough shapes on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 10-12 mins.
My second favorite are these Russian tea cookies aka snowballs. They are super simple to make , a bit messy to eat with all the powdered sugar on top, but overall delicious.

∆ 1 cup butter
∆ 2 teaspoons vanilla
∆ 6 tablespoons powdered sugar
∆ 2 cups white flour
∆ 1 cup chopped almonds
1)Preheat oven to 350°
2)Mix butter and vanilla in medium bowl till smooth.
3)Combine powdered sugar and flour
Stir into butter mixture until blended.
4)Mix in almonds
5)Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
6)Bake 11-12 minutes
7)Roll in powdered sugar when cool
I hope you enjoy these recipes and have a wonderful Christmas. I’ll be back soon with more holiday themed blog posts!
Happy Holidays!
